ราษฎรส่วนใหญ่เป็นลาวครั่งซึ่งอพยพมาจากสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว สืบทอดวัฒนธรรมการทอผ้าซิ่นไหมหรือซิ่นฝ้าย
ผ้าที่มีชื่อเสียงของจังหวัดอุทัยธานี ได้แก่ ผ้าพื้นเมืองบ้านโคกหม้อ อำเภอทัพทัน ซึ่งได้แก่ ผ้าไหมมัดหมี่ลายโบราณ ผ้าตีนจกไหมลาย โบราณ ผ้าซิ่นมัดหมี่ต่อตีนจกลายโบราณ ฯลฯ และผ้าทอลายโบราณอำเภอทัพทัน ซึ่งมีลวดลายต่างๆ อาทิ ลายขอขื่อ ลายดอกดาว ลายขอหลวง ลายสัตว์ และตามพื้นที่อำเภอหนองขาหย่าง อำเภอหนองฉาง อำเภอสว่างอารมณ์ และอำเภอสานสัก ยังปรากฎให้เห็นการทอผ้าอยู่ทั่วไป

Most of those living in this area are the Lao Krang, who emigrated from Laos and began the tradition of weaving the women's "Pha-Sin" or wrap-around skirt in cotton and silk.

This area is famous for its hand-woven fabric in both local traditional and ancient patterns. Silk in local traditional patterns, including ancient Mud-Mee and Tin-Jok and the "Pha-Sin" in Mud-Mee silk and Tor-Tin-Jok are woven at Ban Kok Mor in Thap Than District. The ancient patterns done at Thap Than District include Kor-Kau, Dok-Daow and Kor-Luang and various animal motifs.Weaving is especially seen in several districts (Nong Ka Yang, Nong-Chang, Sawang Arom and Lan Sak) but is actually widespread throughout the province.
